trademd Terms of Service
Beta version, before legal review
Document version: terms-v2-beta-20260924
These terms are available in Korean, English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Spanish and French. All six language versions are authoritative and say the same thing.
trademd is an AI service that collects the Markdown files people use with AI, such as prompts, skills and agent instructions. Uploaded files go through automated checks and summaries, and then members can view and download them. The creator who uploaded a file earns a royalty when a member downloads it. These terms are the rules for using trademd. Right now trademd is a public beta, so no real money changes hands. We wrote the rules in the same shape they will have in the live service, and we point out the parts that only apply to the beta.
Article 1. Purpose
These terms set out the conditions and procedures for using the trademd service, and the rights and duties of the operator and of users.
Article 2. Operator
- trademd is run by a sole proprietor registered in the Republic of Korea.
- Trade name: 스킵픽스(skipiks)
- Representative: 김규태
- Address: 서울 마포구 새창로 52 도화현대1차아파트 110동
- Phone: 050-6998-9311
- Business registration number: 891-66-00872
- Mail-order business registration number: 2026-서울마포-2413
- Email: legal@trademd.org
- We take questions through the contact form at https://trademd.org/contact. You don't need to be signed in to use it.
Article 3. Definitions
- A "file" is a specific version of a Markdown (.md) document that a user uploaded and registered. A ZIP is only a way to upload several files at once. It isn't offered as a file of its own.
- A "member" is anyone who has signed up for trademd. The membership plans are FREE, DISCOVERY and PRO. A "creator" is a member who uploaded and registered a file.
- "Free summary", "view" and "download" are explained in Article 7.
- A "view pass" is what you use to view one version of a file. You get view passes as an upload reward.
- A "download pass" is what you use to download one version of a file. You get them with a membership or buy them in packs.
- A "royalty" is the US dollar (USD) amount that builds up for a creator when members download their files. It is a separate balance and never mixes with passes.
- A "test payment" is a payment processed during the public beta with no real money. Memberships, passes and royalties that come from test payments have no cash value.
Article 4. Public beta
- trademd is currently a public beta that anyone can join. Real payments, real payouts and blockchain registration are switched off.
- Every membership and download pass pack paid for during the beta is a test payment. You can make up to $50.00 of test payments per day (UTC), and automatic membership renewals don't count toward that limit. You can ask for a refund of a test payment under Article 10, but no money comes back. Only the passes from that payment are cleared. Royalties in the beta can't be exchanged for cash or paid out.
- Beta features and prices may change. When they do, we give notice in advance under Article 23.
- When trademd switches to the live service, memberships started with test payments, view passes and download passes from the beta, and beta royalties are all retired. That means they do not carry over to the live service. Files downloaded in the beta can no longer be opened or downloaded again on trademd after the switch. Copies you already downloaded can still be used within the license recorded when you downloaded them (Download License, Articles 1(1) and 6(4)).
- Uploaded files carry over to the live service only if the creator agrees again to the final live terms. Files without that new agreement are not offered in the live service.
- We announce the timing and method of the switch in advance, following the notice periods in Article 23.
- On September 24, 2026 we changed how the beta works, from credits to membership plans and passes, and reset the beta data from before that date. Test C and B balances, file access opened with credits, and test earnings and test payouts from the beta were cleared. Uploaded files and their versions, accounts and consent records stayed as they were. Members who had cleared data got an in-app notification. Copies you already downloaded before the reset can still be used within the license recorded when you downloaded them (Download License, Articles 1(1) and 6(4)).
Article 5. Who can join
- Only adults can join. The threshold is the minimum age in your country of residence, and the default is 18. If you live in a country that sets a higher age, such as the Republic of Korea, the sign-up screen shows that country's age.
- You confirm your age yourself. We don't ask for or store your date of birth.
- You need to tell us your country of residence when you sign up. Payments, royalty payouts and tax handling depend on it. We don't decide your country from your connection location (IP) alone.
- If you haven't entered a country of residence, you can browse and upload files, but you can't register files, pay for a membership or a download pass pack, view, download or request payouts. If you live in a sanctioned country, you can only browse and re-open or re-download files you already have. Uploads, registering files, paid actions and payouts aren't available. We keep the list of sanctioned countries with the source of each sanction and the date we checked it.
- People and organizations on international sanctions lists cannot use paid features.
- If we find that you gave a false age or country, we may restrict your use, or close and delete your account. When we start the deletion, we tell you why in the service, and you can respond through the contact form. From then on it is handled like a deletion you asked for (Article 19(2) to 19(4)), except that you can't cancel it yourself. When we carry out the deletion, any membership payment you could have got back in full under Article 10(1) when we started it is refunded (you can't ask for it yourself while the deletion is pending), and unused download passes you bought in packs are refunded as Article 19(2) says.
- You can change your country in settings. If your current country blocks some features, though, you can't change it yourself and need to confirm the change with us through the contact form.
Article 6. Accounts
- You sign in with a Google account. The operator never receives your password.
- An account is for one person. You can't share it, hand it over or lend it to anyone.
- Other users see your display name (alias). You can't use a name that could be mistaken for trademd, the operator or the system, and you can't impersonate anyone else.
- Keep your Google account and the devices you sign in on secure. If you think your account has been taken over, tell us right away through the contact form.
Article 7. Free summary, views and downloads
- The free summary is a description of the file that anyone can read for free. It includes things like the title, summary, category, tags and the tools the file needs, but not the full text. Summaries are generated automatically and then checked by the creator, so they can contain mistakes.
- A view is the right to read a fixed excerpt, approved in advance by the creator, for 24 hours.
- The excerpt is at most 2,000 characters and never more than 0.2 times the length of the file.
- Files shorter than 500 characters can't be viewed. They can only be downloaded.
- The time counts from when you open the view. Opening it again doesn't extend it. It doesn't renew or use another pass automatically.
- The excerpt is the same no matter who opens it or how many times.
- A view gives you no right to use the file. That right only comes with the Download License you get when you download.
- DISCOVERY and PRO members view without passes. FREE members use one view pass for each view.
- When you download a file, you can read and download the original text of that file version, and you receive the Download License (version license-individual-v2-beta-20260924). Files registered under the public beta's test permission before the Download License was published are the exception. Until their creator gives permission again, you get the test license (reading and personal use only) for them, as Article 1(2) of the Download License explains. Your download record shows which license you got.
- Each download uses one download pass. Passes from your membership for the current billing period are used first. If those run out, passes you bought in packs and passes given back after a review (Article 10(4)) are used together, oldest first.
- You can open and download a version you already have as often as you like without using a pass. That stays true after your membership ends or your plan changes. A new version needs its own download pass, and one is never used automatically.
- A download link works for 60 seconds and only while you are signed in to the account that downloaded the file.
- Before a view or download, the confirmation screen shows which pass will be used and how many you'll have left. On the download confirmation screen we ask you to agree to the refund effect described in Article 10(2).
- You never use view or download passes on your own files. Creators read their own files without a pass.
Article 8. Membership plans and passes
- There are three membership plans: FREE, DISCOVERY and PRO. When you sign up you are on FREE, which costs nothing. FREE members view with the view passes they earned from uploads, and can download with download passes bought in packs.
- DISCOVERY and PRO are monthly memberships. Views are unlimited with no pass needed, and each billing period you get the number of download passes set for your plan. The numbers and prices for each plan are on the Pricing page.
- Download passes from a membership disappear when that billing period ends and don't carry over to the next one. Each new period starts with a fresh set.
- You can also buy download passes in packs, whatever plan you're on. Download passes bought in packs never expire, and they are used only after the passes from your membership run out.
- View passes earned as upload rewards never expire.
- View passes and download passes can't be sent or handed to other users, and can't be exchanged for cash. Refunds for unused pack passes are covered in Article 10.
- The operator never edits pass or royalty records directly. If a record is wrong, we keep the original and add a correcting record. You can see your history in the service.
Article 9. Membership payments and taxes
- Memberships and download pass packs are paid in US dollars. Monthly plan prices and pack prices are on the Pricing page, and the current values are beta starting prices.
- A membership runs in billing periods of one month each, starting when the payment completes. It renews automatically up to 3 hours before a period ends, and the next period is charged then. The new period starts right when the current one ends. If a renewal is applied only after the period has ended, the new period starts when the renewal is applied, so you aren't charged for the time in between. If a renewal payment fails, the membership ends when the current period ends and you go back to FREE.
- Moving up a plan (from DISCOVERY to PRO) takes effect as soon as the payment completes, and a new billing period starts. We refund the unused part of your previous payment to the original payment method. That part is the previous payment multiplied by the smaller of two shares: the share of time left in the previous period, and the share of that period's membership download passes you hadn't used. It is rounded down to the cent. Download passes left over from the previous period disappear. Because moving up ends the previous period at once, the previous payment gets this partial refund instead of the full refund in Article 10(1).
- Moving down a plan (from PRO to DISCOVERY) and cancelling take effect when the current billing period ends. Until then you keep your current plan, and you can undo a cancellation before the period ends. If the renewal in item 2 has already been charged, though, a cancellation or move down takes effect when the new period ends. That renewal payment can still be refunded under Article 10(1) if nothing is downloaded in the new period.
- Where tax applies, we add it to the price and show the total before you pay. Where the law requires the tax-inclusive total to be shown first, we show totals starting from the Pricing page and the pack list. We don't add extra passes to cover tax.
- Payment details such as card numbers are handled by the payment provider. The operator doesn't store them.
- If you close the window before payment finishes, or the payment fails, no membership or passes are created. If the payment confirmation arrives more than once, it still only counts once.
Article 10. Cancellations and refunds
- A membership payment (the first payment or a renewal) can be refunded in full to the original payment method without giving a reason, if you ask within 14 days of paying and nothing was downloaded in the period that payment started. Views alone don't prevent the refund. For a payment that moved you up a plan (Article 9(3)), downloads count from the start of the period it replaced. This refund is approved automatically. The membership ends right away, you go back to FREE, and the download passes for that period disappear.
- If you downloaded even one file in that period, with any kind of download pass, or the deadline has passed, that membership payment isn't refunded. If you cancel, you can keep using the membership until the period ends. We ask you to agree to this on the download confirmation screen.
- Download passes bought in packs can be refunded for the ones you haven't used, with no deadline, to the original payment method. The refund is the pack price multiplied by the number of unused passes and divided by the number of passes in the pack, rounded down to the cent. Passes you already used aren't refunded.
- If a file you downloaded doesn't match its description, is broken and can't be used, or has been blocked for safety or legal reasons, you can ask for a review. The deadline is 3 months from the day you downloaded it, or 30 days from the day you learned or could have learned about the problem. If the operator reviews it and agrees, we cancel that download and give you one download pass back. If the download used a membership pass and that billing period is still running, the pass goes back to that period's membership passes. Otherwise the pass never expires. In this case the refund is the pass, not cash.
- A view shows the excerpt the moment you open it, so there is no change-of-mind cancellation for views. The view confirmation screen tells you this. If the excerpt is broken or doesn't match the description, please report it under Article 16.
- We aim to answer refund requests within 3 business days.
- We can't delete a file you already downloaded from your device. If a review cancels a download, you can't download that version from trademd again and must stop using any copy you have.
- If a chargeback comes in from your card issuer, we look into it. While it is open, the passes from that payment are frozen, and if that payment paid for your membership, unlimited views from that membership pause too. If the chargeback ends in the card issuer's favor, we take back the unused passes from that payment, and if it was a membership payment, the membership ends. If a different payment already paid for the billing period running at that time, that period runs to its end and the membership then ends without renewing. A renewal already paid for a period that hasn't started yet is refunded in full. Versions you already downloaded stay available to you within the license recorded when you downloaded them (Download License, Articles 1(1) and 6(4)). The creators keep the royalties they earned from those downloads, and the operator bears the loss. We never charge your payment method again on our own.
- This article doesn't reduce any cancellation or refund rights the law gives you.
- The periods in this article are counted on the calendar in Korean time (Asia/Seoul). The day you paid, the day you downloaded, or the day you learned about the problem isn't counted, and a period runs to the end of its last day. A period in months ends on the same date that many months later, or on the last day of that month if that date doesn't exist.
Article 11. What trademd does
- trademd is an AI service that receives permission (a license) from creators to use their files, and offers those files to members as views and downloads. The operator is the one providing files to members and granting them the Download License. Creators receive royalties from the operator when members download their files.
- The operator handles memberships and payments, refunds, calculating and paying royalties, checking and reviewing files, and handling reports.
- Creators vouch for the content and rights of their files, and for the accuracy of their descriptions, in the Uploader Permission. The operator checks and reviews files, and when a problem is confirmed, handles it under Articles 10 and 16. Passing the checks does not guarantee that a file is safe or works the way you want.
- Automated tools help with summaries and categories. Publishing, agreeing to rights and paying are decided by you.
- We don't show a creator's email to members, and we don't show creators a member's email or who downloaded a file. The royalty statement a creator sees only lists download counts and amounts per file and month, with nothing that identifies a member.
Article 12. Creators and royalties
- You become a creator when you upload a file and register it after agreeing to the Uploader Permission (version uploader-v2-beta-20260924). Files that pass review are offered to members.
- Creators don't set a price for each file. Members use files through their plan and passes, and creators earn royalties on downloads. Views don't earn royalties.
- Downloads with membership passes: we take 70% of what one member paid, net, for one billing period, split it evenly across the file versions that member downloaded in that period, and pay each share to the creator of that file. Net means the payment minus payment processing fees, tax and any refunded amount. If the member downloaded nothing in the period, nothing is split. We calculate it after the period ends, and leftover fractions of a cent are handed out one cent at a time in download order so the total adds up exactly.
- Downloads with pack passes: each time one pass from a pack is used, we pay the creator of that file 70% of the pack's net amount divided by the number of passes in the pack. Fractions of a cent are dropped from each pack's running total. If the rate changes later, royalties already earned are not recalculated.
- Royalties start as "pending". They become "available" once 14 days have passed since they were earned, the payment behind them has settled, and there is no dispute. Until you complete creator verification (item 7), they stay pending even when all of this is met.
- Payouts happen when you ask for one. Each request has to be at least $25.00. Transfer fees and currency conversion fees are paid by the creator. We show an estimated amount when you ask and the final amount when we pay.
- You can only request a payout if your country of residence supports payouts and you have completed creator verification. There are no real payouts during the beta.
- The operator doesn't routinely hold back part of your royalties. If something happens, such as a refund request, a chargeback, a rights complaint or suspected misuse, we may hold the related royalties until the case is closed. Only those royalties wait. You can still request payouts of your other available royalties.
- If a royalty you were already paid out is later cancelled by a review, that amount is recorded as owed by you and taken first from your future royalties. Payouts may pause until it is paid off.
- Creators are responsible for reporting and paying tax on their royalties. The operator may ask for tax information where the law requires it.
- You can stop offering a file at any time. Members who already downloaded it can keep downloading that version, and views that haven't ended yet stay open. Royalties for downloads made before you stopped are still paid.
- A download made with a pass given back after a review (Article 10(4)) earns a royalty too. If the pass went back to a membership period, the download is counted in that period's split under item 3. Otherwise the file's creator receives the royalty that was taken back from the cancelled download.
Article 13. Upload rewards
- When a new file passes review and is published, we give the creator view passes: 1 per file.
- The same content is rewarded only once per person. Re-uploading it with a new file name or different line endings doesn't earn a new reward.
- Rewards are limited to 10 files per day per person, and days follow UTC. There is no monthly limit. If the daily limit means there is no reward, we tell you before you register.
- Uploading someone else's original under a public license, as allowed in Article 15, earns the same reward.
- Rewards found to come from false uploads, duplicate rewards or rights infringement are taken back. Unused view passes are taken back right away. View passes you already used are not recorded as owed. Taking back a reward never takes download passes or royalties instead. We tell you the reason when we take a reward back.
- We don't take back view passes you already received just because you stopped offering a file normally or withdrew research permission.
Article 14. Files you can't upload
- You can't upload the following:
- malware, or instructions for building or spreading it
- tools or methods for taking other people's accounts, passwords, tokens or data
- tools or methods for collecting personal data or tracking people without consent
- content that guides people to break the law
- content that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights
- adult sexual content
- content made to get around AI safety measures
- automation made to get around the service's blocks or rate limits
- files containing secrets or personal data you have no right to publish
- Security testing files, such as vulnerability checks or penetration testing, are accepted on the condition that they carry a notice and warning saying "use only on targets you are authorized to test". Files that review rates as high risk need approval from two reviewers before publication and stay on hold until then.
- If you upload a prohibited file, we may refuse or remove it, take back rewards and restrict your account.
Article 15. Files under public licenses
- You can upload a file you didn't write yourself and have it offered to members if it was published under a license that allows commercial redistribution, such as MIT, Apache-2.0, BSD, CC0 or CC BY.
- You must state the original source and license in the file's details, and you must not remove copyright or license notices from the file.
- This doesn't cover files with a non-commercial condition or files with no license.
- The rights the original license gives members are not reduced by the trademd Download License. Details are in the Uploader Permission.
Article 16. Reports and how we handle them
- You can report a problem file from its page. The reasons are malware, rights infringement, personal data, not as described, doesn't work, outdated and prohibited use. Rights holders without an account can tell us through the contact form (https://trademd.org/contact).
- We don't tell the reported creator who made the report.
- The operator aims to respond or act within the times below. These are targets, not guarantees. If a target is missed, an internal alert goes to the operator. Business days are Monday to Friday in Korean time, and public holidays count as business days too.
- Malware, personal data: within 1 day
- Rights infringement: a first action on the file, such as putting it on hold, by the end of the day (Korean time) the report reaches us, and a decision within 2 business days. For reports sent through the contact form, the first-action target starts when we open a case for the file.
- Other reports and questions: within 7 days
- Refund requests: within 3 business days
- Account deletion: within 10 days
- The actions the operator can take are approve, reject, hold, stop offering, block and unblock. We tell the creator the decision and the reason. If you disagree, you can ask for another review through the contact form.
- When a file is blocked for safety or legal reasons, access to its text and excerpt stops. We then point members who downloaded it to a review under Article 10(4).
Article 17. Blockchain records
- We don't register anything on a blockchain during the beta. Files that pass review are published right away, and the registration record (file hash, consent record, version) is kept in the operator's database.
- Blockchain records are only a future plan. If we add them, we will first explain what gets recorded and update these terms.
- Being registered means this file version and its terms were recorded. It doesn't certify who wrote the file or who holds the copyright.
Article 18. Changes to the service and pauses
- Beta features may change or stop. The operator can pause search, uploads, registration, reward payouts, views and downloads, payments and payouts one by one.
- Even when features are paused, opening files you already downloaded is kept separately. Files blocked for safety or legal reasons are the exception.
- We announce major changes or the end of the service in advance. For urgent security problems we may act first and tell you afterwards.
Article 19. Account deletion and restrictions
- You can ask to delete your account at any time under account management at the bottom of the settings screen. To prevent accidents, the request only goes through once you type the confirmation phrase yourself. The operator confirms it's you and aims to finish within 10 days. You can cancel the request until it is processed.
- Asking for deletion stops the next renewal of your membership. From that moment views and downloads are locked until the deletion is processed or you cancel the request, and that includes downloading again a version you already have. You can still request payouts of your available royalties until then. The current membership period isn't refunded, except for a full refund you can still get under Article 10(1), so ask for that before you request deletion. When the deletion is processed, we first refund the unused download passes you bought in packs to the way you paid, automatically. Then your membership ends and any other remaining view passes and download passes disappear. If some of your royalties can't be paid out yet at that point, we check them while processing the deletion and contact you before we finish it.
- When the account is deleted, we erase your email and display name and end your sign-in. Transaction records, ledgers and consent records stay for the periods set out in the Privacy Policy.
- Files from a deleted account are no longer offered to anyone new. Members who already downloaded them can keep downloading that version.
- If a user breaks these terms, the operator may restrict their use or suspend the account. Examples include prohibited files, improper rewards, false declarations and account sharing. We tell you the reason and give you a chance to respond. In urgent cases we may act first and tell you afterwards.
Article 20. Liability
- If the operator causes you harm intentionally or through negligence, the operator compensates you as the law requires.
- Unless the operator acted intentionally or negligently, the operator is not responsible for:
- problems with the content, quality or rights of files uploaded by creators that the operator could not have found through its checks and review
- events outside the operator's control, such as natural disasters or outages at cloud or sign-in providers
- problems caused by a user not keeping their account secure
- loss of passes from test payments or of beta royalties, which have no cash value
- You judge the results of using a file in AI tools or agents. Check the instructions in a file before you run them.
- This article doesn't reduce any consumer rights the law of your country gives you.
Article 21. Intellectual property
- The operator holds the rights to the service's screens, text, logo and software.
- Users keep the rights to the files they upload. The operator uses them only as the Uploader Permission allows.
- What members can do with a file they downloaded is set out in the Download License.
Article 22. Notices and contact
- We tell you about payments, refunds, royalties, payouts, registrations and review results through in-app notifications. You'll find them in the notifications menu, which is separate from settings.
- Emails are only for notices about money and rights, sent from an address that can't receive replies. We don't send email during the beta yet, and we will tell you before we start.
- To reach the operator, use the contact form (https://trademd.org/contact). Legal notices can be sent to legal@trademd.org.
Article 23. Changes to these terms
- When we change these terms, we post what is changing and the effective date in the service starting 7 days before it takes effect. For changes that are unfavorable to users or otherwise important, we start 30 days before.
- When a new version takes effect, we ask you to agree to it again before your next upload or paid action. Uploads here mean starting an upload, registering a file and giving a new research or commercial permission. Paid actions are starting or moving up a membership, paying for a download pass pack, views and downloads. Until you agree, those actions are unavailable. You can still open and download files you already downloaded, cancel, ask for refunds, request payouts and withdraw permissions you gave, and you can ask to delete your account.
- All six language versions are changed together.
Article 24. Governing law and disputes
- These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Korea. Rules of your country's consumer protection law that cannot be excluded by contract still apply.
- If a dispute comes up, please tell us through the contact form first. If it isn't resolved, you can use a consumer dispute mediation body in Korea or in your country of residence.
- Lawsuits go to the court that has jurisdiction under the relevant law. If you are a consumer, your right to sue in the courts of your own country under its law stays as it is.
Article 25. Language and interpretation
- These terms are available in Korean, English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Spanish and French, and all versions are authoritative.
- If the language versions seem to differ in meaning, or a term is unclear, it is interpreted in the way more favorable to the user.
Supplementary provision
These terms apply from the day they are posted in the service.
