This permission is available in Korean, English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Spanish and French. All six language versions are authoritative and say the same thing.

This document covers what you promise and what you allow when you upload and register a file. It spells out the checkboxes on the registration screen. The required items are what trademd needs to offer your file to members and pay you royalties. The optional ones can be declined with no penalty.

Article 1. Scope

1. This permission applies when you upload a file and press "Register" on the registration screen. The Terms of Service apply too. Files you registered under the public beta's test permission before this permission was published can be confirmed again under this permission on the file management screen. Once you do, it applies to downloads from then on.
2. Every registration leaves a consent record. It includes the hash of each file, the hash of the excerpt you approved, the versions of the terms, the license and this permission, your choices, and the time you agreed.
3. After registration, a file's content and excerpt don't change. To change either, upload the changed file and register it again. It becomes a separate file, and the file you registered before stays as it is.

Article 2. What you promise

When you register, you promise that:

1. You have the right to upload the file and let trademd use it. You wrote it yourself, or it is a public-license original under Article 6 or a modified version of one.
2. The file contains no secrets (keys, tokens, passwords) or other people's personal data that you have no right to publish.
3. The file is not one of the prohibited files in Article 14 of the Terms of Service.
4. The description, including the title, summary, required tools and limitations, is accurate. If the file only works with separate scripts or materials, you say so.

If a rights dispute arises because one of these promises was untrue, you are responsible for it.

Article 3. Permission to offer your file to members (required)

You allow the operator to do the following. This permission is not exclusive. You keep the rights to your file and can post it or offer it elsewhere too.

1. Keep the file in private storage and run safety and duplicate checks on it.
2. Create and publish a free summary and search details (title, summary, category, tags) from the file. Right now these are made with rules. If we start using an AI API provider, we will update this permission and the Privacy Policy and tell you first.
3. Show members the fixed excerpt you approved, as a view.
4. Offer the file to members as a download, and grant members the Download License (version license-individual-v2-beta-20260924) in the operator's own name. For a file you registered under the test permission before this permission was published, members get this license for downloads made after you confirm the file again under Article 1(1). Until then they get the test license (reading and personal use only).
5. Keep providing the file to members who already downloaded it, even after you stop offering it or delete your account.
6. Show your display name with the file's details.
7. Let members who downloaded the file with download passes from test payments in the public beta keep using the copies they already downloaded, within the license recorded when they downloaded them, after trademd switches to the live service. The same goes for copies downloaded before the beta reset on September 24, 2026. Their access to the file on trademd ends at the switch.
8. In return for this permission, the operator pays you royalties when members download your file. How they are calculated and paid is covered in Article 12. Views don't earn royalties.

Article 4. Research permission (optional)

1. The scope of research permission is "trademd internal evaluation and internal dataset building". For example, evaluating inside the operator which files are useful for which tasks, and putting together internal sets of material for that evaluation.
2. Model training, sharing with outside parties and redistribution are not part of this permission.
3. Actual use needs a research plan approved inside the operator. Each time, we check your current permission again. If permission is missing or withdrawn, or the file has been blocked, we don't use it.
4. Files that failed the secret or personal data checks are never used for research.

Article 5. Commercial permission (optional)

1. Ticking this box records that you are open to your file being used in products the operator makes itself.
2. Before we use the file in any actual product, we tell you which product and how, and ask for your permission again. If you don't give it, we don't use the file.
3. Commercial permission doesn't allow research or model training, and research permission doesn't allow commercial use.

Article 6. Public-license originals

1. You can upload a file someone else wrote and have it offered to members if it is an original published under a license that allows commercial redistribution, such as MIT, Apache-2.0, BSD, CC0 or CC BY. A modified version of such an original can be uploaded too, if the original license allows modified versions to be redistributed commercially.
2. You must state the original source and license in the file's details, and you must not remove copyright or license notices from the file.
3. Files with a non-commercial condition or with no license can't be uploaded.
4. The rights the original license gives members are not reduced by the trademd Download License. Where the original license allows more, members keep that.
5. These originals earn the same upload reward as in Article 9. Mass uploads aimed only at rewards may be rejected in review.

Article 7. Declining costs you nothing

1. Research permission and commercial permission are both off by default, and neither stands in for the other.
2. Declining doesn't hurt how your file is offered to members, your upload reward, your royalties or your search visibility. We don't show anyone that you declined.
3. You can change both optional choices at any time after registration on the file management screen.

Article 8. What happens when you withdraw or stop offering a file

1. When you stop offering a file, new search visibility, views and downloads stop. Members who already downloaded it keep their rights, views that haven't ended yet stay open, and royalties for downloads made before you stopped are still paid.
2. When you withdraw research or commercial permission, further use stops, and any export or use that was prepared but hasn't run yet is stopped too.
3. Internal evaluation results made before you withdrew (scores, statistics and so on) may remain. We don't guarantee that the file's influence can be fully removed from such results. Research permission doesn't include model training, but we also don't guarantee that specific data can be removed from any model ("unlearning").
4. Withdrawing permission or stopping offering a file doesn't, by itself, make us take back view passes you already received.
5. If you ask to delete your account, you can still request payouts of your available royalties until the deletion is carried out. Royalties for downloads made before then are handled under Article 19 of the Terms of Service. If some of them can't be paid out yet when we process the deletion, we contact you before we finish it.

Article 9. Upload rewards

1. When a new file passes review and is published, we give you view passes: 1 per file. We show how many you'll get for each file before you register.
2. The same content is rewarded only once per person. Re-uploading it with a new file name or different line endings, or taking it down and putting it back up, doesn't earn a new reward.
3. Rewards are limited to 10 files per day per person (UTC), and there is no monthly limit. If the daily limit means there is no reward, we show 0 and the reason before you register.
4. View passes are not cash. They can only be used for views, can't be given to anyone else, and never expire. View passes from the beta are retired when trademd switches to the live service.
5. If the daily limit changes after we showed you how many passes you'd get, we show you the new number at registration and ask you to confirm again.

Article 10. Taking rewards back

1. If a file turns out to be a false upload, a duplicate reward or a rights infringement, we take back its reward.
2. Unused view passes are taken back right away. View passes you already used are not recorded as owed and are not taken from your next rewards.
3. Taking a reward back never makes your view pass balance negative and never takes download passes or royalties instead.
4. We tell you the reason when we take a reward back. If you disagree, you can ask for another review through the contact form (https://trademd.org/contact).

Article 11. Review and publishing

1. Uploaded files go through automatic checks. Files we can't read (empty, binary or not UTF-8) are rejected. Files with what looks like a secret key, a Korean resident registration number, a US Social Security number or a card number, and files the check couldn't finish, are put on hold for a person to review. A file with the same content as one another creator already registered is also put on hold, for a rights review. Email addresses and phone numbers don't put a file on hold. You see a warning instead, and you can register the file after you confirm it.
2. High-risk files need approval from two reviewers before they are published. If there is no second reviewer, they wait on hold.
3. We don't register anything on a blockchain during the beta. Files that pass review are published right away, and the registration record is kept in the operator's database.
4. Being registered means the file version and its terms were recorded. It doesn't certify who wrote the file.

Article 12. Royalties

How royalties are calculated, held, paid out, frozen and recovered follows Article 12 of the Terms of Service. Royalties come only from members' downloads, never from views.

Article 13. Other terms

1. This permission is governed by the law of the Republic of Korea. Rules of the law of the uploader's country that cannot be excluded by contract still apply.
2. This permission is available in Korean, English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Spanish and French, and all versions are authoritative. If the language versions seem to differ in meaning, the one more favorable to the uploader applies.
